Welcome to my website...
I want to share with you how this site got started. I decided to leave my job with a large big box retailer after 16 years. I had always loved my job as the company believed in promoting the entrepreneur spirit in it's employees and encouraging them to provide the best service possible to their customers. Sadly, I felt that wisdom seemed to fade in the past several years. I made the decision to leave to spend more time with a close friend and my aunt, who were both terminally ill. It is a decision that I have not regretted.
During some of those early morning chats with my friend, she repeatedly encouraged me to do what I loved. Before the cancer took over her body, she encouraged me to use my creative talents and enjoy life. Along with her words, and the encouragement from many other friends and family, I decided it was time to do something I really enjoyed.
My passion for sewing and crafts came from watching my grandmother (whom I am named after) and my aunt. They were both an inspiration me. I was an eager student to soak in all of their knowledge. My grandmother made beautiful quilts and my aunt made the majority of her clothes just by looking at something she liked. I was always amazed at my aunt's talent.
Growing up I knew I was meant to do something creative. I constantly was making something. One of my early careers was as a floral designer. Those 5 years taught me a different way to look at design elements. Over the years I made many items and sold them at craft fairs and festivals. When I wasn't working at my full time job, I was always sewing, creating or designing.
I started this website in my grief from the loss of my loved ones, but I knew it was time to pay attention to my heart. Creative gift giving has always been a true passion of mine. I always loved finding something different and special. I was never happy if I didn't find something unique to give someone. I hope Sew Susan Designs.com will be that source for you. My goal is to offer you quality personalized gifts at reasonable prices along with exceptional customer service.
Thank you for shopping at my store. I hope you like what you see and will tell your friends and family. My business is growing because of satisfied customers spreading the word. Your business is greatly appreciated!
All the Best,
Susan
In honor of my aunt
